Sharing Your Volunteer Experience

We hope that volunteering with Neuromatch is not only an intrinsically rewarding experience but also helps support you in achieving your next professional and academic goals.

We encourage volunteers to add their volunteer position(s) to their LinkedIn profiles, on their CVs, resumes, and any other professional website.

Adding Volunteer Experience on LinkedIn

  • If you do not already have a Volunteer Experience section, you'll need to add on. See the image below:
  • Add profile section > "Addition" > Add volunteer experience

  • Then you'll need to add a new entry!
  • We have a few LinkedIn accounts, pick the one that makes the most sense for your position:
  •  Neuromatch
  •  Neuromatch Academy
  •  Climatematch Academy
  • Add your Role, Start date, End date, and Description.
  • Here are roles and their general descriptions. Feel free to change and edit to reflect the work you actually did and highlight your accomplishments in the position.

Updating your Resume or CV

Resumes and CVs can differ by industry and geographical location. Make sure you're up-to-date on formatting and content expectations for your specific circumstance.

If you have a Service or Community Involvement section, add your Neuromatch volunteer position there. Otherwise, add under the existing section that makes the most sense.

Own your accomplishments, use active verbs, and quantify your outputs when possible!
