Partner Projects
The Impact Scholars Program collaborates with leading research organizations to provide scholars with access to unique open-access datasets, tools, training, and expert mentorship.
During the Academy, you'll work in project groups to explore open-science datasets and develop research questions with support from a Teaching Assistant. Students who complete the project component, as well as Teaching Assistants, are eligible to apply to the Impact Scholars Program.
Applicants can choose between:
Continue an Academy project, further developing a research question explored during the course.
Join a Partner Project, working with a dataset, research question, or mentorship opportunity provided by one of our partner organizations. For the 2026 cohort, Partner Projects are only available to scholars from the Computational Neuroscience and Computational Tools for Climate Science courses.
Partner projects offer the opportunity to work with real-world datasets, engage with researchers at the forefront of the field, and contribute to impactful open-science research.
Some partners come with a specific research question and domain expertise, while others provide a dataset and give you the freedom to explore your own ideas.

In 2026, students will have the option to work on projects from E11 Bio , Learning the Earth with Artificial Intelligence and Physics (LEAP ), Meta , The Michael J. In addition to the Partner Projects open for applications, we are delighted to partner with TReND in Africa through their Computational Neuroscience and Machine Learning in Africa (CaMinA) school. Through this collaboration, a team of CaMinA participants will join the Impact Scholars Program, pursuing a research project with mentorship from the TReND community while participating in ISP workshops and producing a micropublication. We look forward to fostering new connections and supporting emerging computational neuroscientists across our communities.
