Scientific innovation promises a better future for humanity, but many people have historically been excluded from participating. Entire groups of people are literally separated geographically, economically, or socially from much of the 'web of science'.
Our Mission
Accelerate scientific innovation by facilitating inclusive, collaborative, and global participation in the computational sciences.
Everybody can be empowered to contribute to the frontiers of human knowledge.
Our Strategy and Values
.1Connect People Across Communities
.2Collaborate with Other People and Organizations
.3Create Transparent and Free Information
.4Operate Online and in All Timezones Fairly
Our Aspirations
Increase the number and diversity of people participating in computational sciences research and development
Make research output (publications, software, data, tools, etc) authorship representative of the world's population and increase the number of them that are co-authored with people from multiple countries
Make scientific representation and communication visibility representative of the world's population by improving a globally representative social media presence, conference talk presence, and presence in leadership roles at scientific societies and institutions

Our Approach
By analyzing barriers to participating or authoring in computational sciences R&D, we develop solutions that remove or overcome these barriers. We believe these activity areas will best contribute to our aspirations and our mission.
Education
Provide academic preparedness to enter graduate school, STEM careers, or contribute to computational sciences research
Provide skills training to prepare people to enter or change careers in the workforce
Networking
Social capital is one of the greatest barriers to participation. People's networks are predictive of career success and persistence. We focus on building networks of strong and weak social connections to encourage persistence in science and provide people with more opportunities.
Professional Development
To help people advance in their careers and persist in the field.
Research Opportunities
To not only help people develop a science identity and obtain the necessary experience for next steps in their career, but also to create more opportunities for people to work in computational sciences no matter their location or background.
Our Vision
A global research institute in the computational sciences that uses new, more fluid and equitable team structures.
