A Theory of Change describes how your research is expected to contribute to meaningful real-world impact. It helps articulate the pathway from research activities to outputs, outcomes, and ultimately clinical, societal or policy benefit.
Within this programme, Theory of Change provides a shared framework for impact planning, supports project reflection throughout the award, and contributes to programme-level evaluation.
The Theory of Change process aims to help teams:
- Clarify intended beneficiaries and users
- Identify assumptions and implementation challenges
- Consider translation pathways early
- Track progress over time
- Communicate impact more clearly
Each team will participate in:
- An initial Theory of Change workshop (Summer/Autumn 2026)
- Mid-point review (2027)
- Final review (2028)
Each session is collaborative and tailored to your project.
