The program recruits a small, selective cohort ().
Applicants should meet the following criteria:
- Early-career researchers (Master’s level to early postdoc).
- For applicants who have completed a PhD, eligibility is typically limited to within 7 years of the PhD award. Career breaks are taken into account and may extend this window.
- Background in AI / computer science, cognitive science, neuroscience, philosophy, ethics, or related fields
- Skills aligned with the selected curated project
- Interest in AI sentience, consciousness, ethics, or governance
- Scholars must commit a minimum of for ~
This includes:
- Independent research work
- Regular mentor meetings (weekly or bi-weekly)
- Participation in program activities, such as workshops, seminars, and journal clubs
- Contribution to program outputs
Because this is a small and mentored cohort, reliable engagement is critical. All applicants should ensure they can reliably meet this commitment alongside their other responsibilities. Scholars are expected to attend scheduled activities, maintain regular communication with mentors, and participate in program check-ins. Consistent participation will be formalised through a at onboarding.
