Academy Info Sessions


Purpose: Engage prospective students, showcase the Academy experience, and provide direct interaction with alumni (Ambassadors), TAs, course creators, and leadership. Special emphasis on reaching students from LMICs with accessible time zones and optional regional sessions. 
Format: A short presentation by Staff and a panel/fireside chat of Alumni/Ambassadors, TAs, Course Creators giving advice and some live Q&A.  Slide deck. 
Goal: Provide prospective students with clear answers about the application process, program structure, and costs to reduce confusion and encourage sign-ups. We will run Google Ads to support signups, targeting LMICs.
Lead-up:
  •  Landing page with webinar information on website 
  • Social media campaign
  • GoogleGrants ad campaign to support sign-ups (Laura)
  • Promote at Townhall; to attend and to share
  • Ambassador promotion; could do posters and QR code, tailored to time zones for their location
  •  1 am UTC

  • Costs, financial aid options, and tips for requesting funding
  • How things are adapted per regions - time zones offered, pricing, Pod/TA matching for location and language
  • Key deadlines/dates
  • Moderated Q&A and a breakout room for Climatematch Academy (if we have coverage)

After:
  • Best recording made available on YouTube and shared on social media
  • Recording embedded on Academy webpage for replay
  • Becomes a model for Ambassadors that want to host a virtual or in person session for their local area or language
