Neuromatch Comms Toolkit

Welcome to the Neuromatch Toolkit!
This resource is for anyone in the Neuromatch ecosystem; Ambassadors, MEXA participants, Climatematch Academy, Neuromatch Academy, Board and staff members, Impact Scholars Alumni, and more.
The goal: make it easy for you to share your projects, experiences, and achievements with the world, whether in a publication, conference talk, social media post, or casual conversation. 
Here you’ll find guidance, templates, and tips to make sharing simple, consistent, and impactful!



Affiliation

When sharing your Neuromatch related work (publications, presentations, social posts, or projects) it’s helpful to include a Neuromatch affiliation. This acknowledges the community, mentorship, and infrastructure that supported your work and helps others recognize the programs you’re involved in.

Impact Scholars

Required: Include your Neuromatch affiliation for any work that is part of an Impact Scholar Project. We have a specific policy around  how to share your work and use an affiliation for Impact Scholars.⁠ 

Volunteers and Alumni

Optional but encouraged: We welcome you to include a Neuromatch affiliation when sharing work related to your volunteer or alumni role.Examples of affiliation formats for different roles:
  • Deep Learning 2025 Teaching Assistant, Neuromatch Academy, Neuromatch, Inc.
  • Volunteer, Climatematch Academy, Neuromatch, Inc.
  • Climatematch Academy Alumni 2024, Neuromatch, Inc.

Please use your Neuromatch affiliation where appropriate. For work that goes beyond Neuromatch projects, either clearly state that you are expressing your personal views and not speaking on behalf of Neuromatch, or avoid using your affiliation if it’s unrelated. If you are unsure, you can always check and ask us at  nma@neuromatch.io 


Using your  nueromatch.io  or  climatematch.io  email

All volunteers, students, and alumni receive a permanent @neuromatch.io or @climatematch.io email address. We encourage you to use it for any Academy-related communications, submissions, or sharing of your work. This ensures your messages are recognized as part of the community and can help you keep communications organized.


Templates and Resources



Presentation template (Powerpoint)

If you’re giving a talk, lecture, or presentation about Neuromatch or Climatematch Academy, you can use our  branded PowerPoint presentation template.  It’s designed to provide a polished, professional starting point with consistent branding, while remaining flexible enough to adapt to different audiences and use cases (e.g. info sessions, conferences, reports).
  • The template works best in the desktop version of PowerPoint
  • Some layouts may not function correctly in Google Slides
  • You’ll find multiple layout options; use the pages that work best for your content!

Zoom Backgrounds

We have a set of branded Zoom backgrounds you're welcome to use for calls, presentations, or events where you're representing Neuromatch or Climatematch Academy. These backgrounds are optional; a blurred background can feel just as professional and a bit more personal, so use whatever works best for you.
If you do want to use one, a few things to keep in mind:
  • For backgrounds that include text or logos, make sure to turn off the mirror image setting in Zoom (go to Settings, Background & Effects, uncheck "Mirror my video") so text appears correctly to others.
  • Results can vary quite a bit depending on your lighting, hair, and clothing. It's worth doing a quick test before an important call!
  • Choose a background that suits the context. Some are more subtle, others more eye-catching, and we have a variety of colors that match our three pillars ( 📙see our brand guidelines⁠ !).

Promotional posters

Want to help spread the word about Neuromatch and Climatematch Academy? We’ve created ready-to-print posters in multiple formats so you can share them in your community, on campus, or at local events as handouts. Options include low-ink versions (easy for at-home printing) and full-colour versions (great for display or handouts).
By using and sharing these posters, you’ll also qualify to be recognized as a  Neuromatch Advocate,⁠  a way to celebrate and acknowledge your efforts in helping our community grow.

Academic conference poster templates

You can share your Neuromatch experience or project at conferences or events using our poster templates. These templates are designed with research-backed best practices to improve clarity, accessibility, and visibility for your work.
  • Start with the PowerPoint version for editing instructions.
  • The .SVG files are also available if you prefer to customize in another program.

Open-science and publishing

Neuromatch is committed to open and equitable access to scientific knowledge. We encourage you to share your work and experiences in any way that feels meaningful; whether that’s writing a blog post, contributing to your University newspaper, or preparing a social media thread.
If you want to publish your work related to Neuromatch more formally in an academic journal, please see the  information provided to Impact Scholars. ⁠ It has a list of suggested journals, guidance on acknowledgments, and information about publication fee waivers or discounts.
