Presenting as a Neuromatch Ambassador

You can host or organize events to promote Neuromatch Academy or Climatematch Academy. This is a great way to spread awareness and connect directly with potential students. This will also move you to Gold Ambassador status.

Starting Slide deck:
Here is a Neuromatch Academy and Climatematch Academy slide deck that you can adapt for your presentations. You are welcome to translate these (if you do, please share!). You can also  watch an example of how these slides were presented.

Tips for success:
  • Make it relatable: Your personal story is the most powerful motivator. Add a few slides about you and your experience!
  • Adapt the content to your audience: Feel free to add or remove content depending on what you think your audience would be most interested in. What time zone would be best for them to join? What is the price for the country you are in? What courses of the Academy would they likely be most interested in?
  • Keep presentations short: 10–15 min works well. Leave time to answer questions and have a chat with your audience.

Where to present:
Audience ideas: Student clubs, university associations, labs or research groups, or academic departments. You could even set up a table at 'welcome week' where clubs and organizations talk to students at the start of semesters.
When approaching groups, keep it simple. Example: "Hi, I’m a Neuromatch/Climatematch Academy Ambassador. Would your group be interested in a short presentation about opportunities in computational neuroscience / climate science training? I took the X course and found it really helpful, and I’d be happy to share my experience."
